Due to the change in race format for 2026, teams will not be competing on behalf of team designated non-profit causes. If 120 or more runners participate in the 2026 OTF Team Relay Championship race, excess proceeds will be donated to Back On My Feet.

Q: Why are teams no longer running for the charity / non-profit cause of their choice?
A: For 2026, the race format changed, a new OTF Team Relay app was developed, and the Runner Fee was reduced to $15 which changed the financial sustainability of the OTF Team Relay. In an effort to maintain a commitment to giving back to our communities, if 120 or more Runners participate in the 2026 OTF Team Relay Championship race then the excess proceeds will be donated to Back on My Feet. The financials for the OTF Team Relay are posted here.
Back on My Feet, a national organization operating in 13 major cities coast to coast, combats homelessness through the power of running, community support and essential employment and housing resources. Back on My Feet uses running and community to motivate and support individuals every step of the way from homelessness to independence. Their success is measured not only by the health impact of miles run, but also by how many individuals obtain education, employment and housing. Back on My Feet recruits members (individuals experiencing homelessness) at homeless and residential facilities around the country and begins with a commitment to run three days a week in the early morning. After 30 days in the program, members with 90% attendance earn the opportunity to move into the Next Steps program, which provides educational support, job training programs, employment partnership referrals and housing resources. Almost 80% of individuals who start the program move into Next Steps. [Back on My Feet has a Charity Navigator rating of 95%]
