How do I Participate?
A member, coach, or staff member of the OTF studio your team represents
Have a GPS run tracking capability. See below for three good options. Tracking must indicate Start Date & Time, Distance, and Run Time/Duration.
Select your own outdoor running route. An outdoor running route is required for the Championship division. A treadmill run on a team in the Open division is acceptable but is not recommended.
Register with the race organizer – using a team-specific Team ID provided by your Team Captain – to verify each team’s roster in advance of the race day and to ensure that race participants have agreed to the requirements for participating (e.g., race tracking and posting their run results to the private Facebook Group, acknowledging that this is “participate at your own risk”, etc.)
Join the Facebook Group: OTF Team Relay
Run your pre-assigned Race Leg(s) (maximum of 2 legs) as assigned by your Team Captain
Post a screenshot of your run to the Facebook Group within 20 minutes of run completion
Note: not posting a run result with sufficient run tracking information may disqualify the team from the competition results. Tracking must indicate Start Date & Time, Distance, and Run Time/Duration
A $20 Runner contribution submitted to your Team Captain covers the cost of the Champion Team T-shirts, Team Captain T-shirts, and all remaining proceeds are donated to the cause / non-profit of choice of the Teams finishing 2nd, 3rd, and 4th.

Runner FAQs
Q: How do I know who the Team Captains are for my studio?
A: Check your Studio's Facebook group. Self-appointed Team Captains who are forming teams will likely be asking for runners to join their team. Ask your OTF friends if they know of any Team Captains at your OTF Studio.
Note: This is not an OTF corporate or studio managed event -- OTF Coaches and Studio Assistants are not keeping track of who the Team Captains are within your studio.
Q: Why do I need to join the OTF Team Relay Facebook group?
A: The Facebook group allows participants to share their run results so that everyone can "watch" the relay unfold on race day. It also enables the race organizer to share any updates as needed.
Q: How do I join the OTF Team Relay group on Facebook?
A: Go to the Groups page in Facebook. Search for "OTF Team Relay". Click request to join the group. The group administrator will approve your request within 48 hours.
Q: If the race is cancelled, will I receive a refund of my Runner contribution?
A: Yes, if the race is cancelled the Race Director will refund as much of the Team entry contribution to your team captain as possible less any expenses already incurred. Your team captain will be responsible for returning your entry contribution to you. The Race Director will not refund entry contributions directly to Runner participants.
Q: If I join a team, pay the team registration contribution, but am not able to participate in the race, can I receive a refund of my Runner contribution?
A: Please contact your Team Captain to determine if your entry contribution can be refunded. The Race Director will not refund entry contributions directly to Runner participants.
Q: If there is lightening, a thunder storm, or other threatening / inclement weather, how will that be handled?
A: In the event of inclement (stormy) weather at your running location, you must notify your Team Captain as soon as possible before the projected start time of your run or if during your run, take cover and contact your Team Captain as soon as possible. The Team Captain and Race Director will mutually coordinate a weather delay for your team (or any teams that are also affected) so that runners do not run in inclement weather. The race can accommodate up to a total 4 hour weather delay after which the team may not be able to finish. The Team Captain and Race Director will coordinate to make every effort for the team to complete the race.
Q: What happens if two teams tie? ...if two or more teams finish within the same minute?
A: The tie-breaker for any teams that finish within 1 minute of each other is based on the Total Run Time (excludes transition time between runs) of the Team's fastest TOTAL time of the 3 mile leg + 4 mile leg + 5 mile leg + 6 mile leg run times.
